Passion for Promarkers Mega Christmas Challenge

Well what a challenge have we got for you and some amazing prizes too!!! the Christmas challenge will run till Jan 5th and it is to make anything but a card using any colours you like

for this weeks challenge i've dreated a gift box the image is from high hopes "stackable santa " coloured with promarkers and cut with scalloped square nesties the ribbon is from my stash and the scalleoped punch is by EK success.

The promarkers i've used are

Skin: sunkissed pink , dusky pink, blush and ivory.

Belt: ice grey 1-3

Boots: Ice grey 1-5

white fur shadows : Pastel blue

sants suit : crimson, berry red and lipstick red.

Outline: warm grey 1-5

The grand prize donated by letraset is a full set of 148 promarkers both the original and the new colours they have also donated two packs of 5 promarkers

Joanna sheen has donated a £10.00 voucher to spend in her online store .

Funky kits have kindley donated 8 sets of stamps

This weeks challenge is a vintage theme and was chosen by maria, you can use any colour combination you like i chose to use sepia tones as they shout vintage to me. we are sponsored by yellow moon and the prize is a £ 10 voucher to spend from their fab catalogue

For this card i used a Sarah Kay image "Fanny's cuddle" coloured with promarkers and cut with the oval and scalloped oval nesties the paper is papermania and the edges are inked with tea stain distress ink and are distressed with the tim holtz distressing tool, the mesh ribbon is from hobbycraft and is also distressed with the tea stain ink. The sheer ribbon is from my stash and the roses are from wildorchidcrafts.

This weeks challenge at passion for promarkers is set by Sarah B and is the colour combo Emerald and Marine and to make something other than a card, well i can tell you i'm a card girl all the way so creating something else got me in a bit of a tizz, never mind the colours, and this is what i came up with ....

i got the template from splitcoast stampers here and it's so easy to make with just 1 sheet of A4 card,

the card is from the papermill, the design paper is brenda pinnick, the flowers i stamped using emerald and marine promarkers instead of ink , the sentiment and flower stamp are both woodware, the sentiment tag is cut with a nestie. the flowers are prima and cut with a retro punch and the roses wildorchidcrafts, the roses i've also coloured with the emerald and marine promarkers, the ribbon, which was originally peach coloured , is from my stash and has been coloured with the emerald promarker, the scalloped border punch is ek success and the pearls are papermania.

i've had to change the paper i normally use for this card as my usual card from the papermill would not go in my printer Grrrrr !!! so i used IQ smooth from staples and after a bit of practice to get used to it i am quite liking it . the image is colored with my promarkers and cut with nesties the papers are forever friends , the edges have been inked with distress ink and the flowers cut with a retro punch the brads are papermania the spacers from ebay the pearls are papermania, the ribbon is from my stash and the charm was a rak from a friend x the martha stewart doily punch has also had an outing .

For this card i got myself in a right old tizz and tried distressing !!! dont know who was more distressed me or the paper lol i have enough trouble cutting some of my papers and the thought of tearing it well that brings me out in a cold sweat !!! any how here it is

The image is an anya by the greeting farm coloured with promarkers, for a change i didn't use my nesties to cut out the image i used the nesties to cut the appeture into the design paper. i dont know the name of the papers they were from my stash, the border is martha stewart doily the paper edges are distressed with a tim holtz distressing tool, the gems are coloured with the rose pink promarker. the dotty ribbon is from stash the flower cut with the retro punch and x-cut punch and the rose is coloured with my promarkers too.

now if i've done the schedule post thingy right and if mr blogger has done his job properly then you should be reading this on tuesday which means another challenge at passion for promarkers and i am either, depending on the british weather, sunning myself on a beach or up to my knees in mud camping in south wales !!! lol

For a change i decided to make a gatefold card, the card blank was in the DT kit as was everything on the card except the image which is a magnolia stamp and the leaf punch which is woodware, the patterned paper is also from my stash but had no details on it sorry , the scalloped edge is an ek success punch, the gems inside are coloured lime green with my promarker and the swirl stamp is HOTP. first of all appologies for not blogging any cards for a whole week , how bad am i !!! i haven't felt too good recently and what with trying to get my lot organised for holidays, it was easier when the kids were babies and i had to do it all , but they like to go shopping for their own clothes and have left it to last minute..... as usual!!! teenagers eh !!

magnolia summer kit

hello peeps, coor is it nearly a week since i posted last, i've just not had any inspiration to make a card this week its been sooo hot and i've been feeling a bit under the weather too, any how my magnolia summer kit arrived this morning and i couldn't wait to ink up the little lovelies, the kit is gorgeous and was just the ticket to get my mojo flowing again and this is what i came up with

For this card i used my first ever digi download, he's a dustin pike image and was a dream to colour with my promarkers, dont you just love the expression on that worms face lol. The image was cut out using the peony nesties and the paper is 'wassail' by basic grey, the punched border is the MS zig zag, the ribbon is from my stash and the ribbon tag by spelbinders, the sentiment i did on the pooter.

Secret crafter saturday challenge

Finally, after a bit of a hectic week, i get the chance to enter a challenge though i have to admit i coloured this image in a while back but did nothing with it, so while browsing through the blogs and saw the pink and green colour combo i remembered i had this image, and this is what i came up with.

the miss anya image is coloured with promarkers and cut with the labels 4 nesties, the papers are basic grey and the border punch is MS doily, the flowers are retro and x-cut and the brad from my stash, the retro flower is embossed with the swiss dots embossing folder and the ribbon is from fantastic ribbons.

I love this little tilda, she's fast becoming one of my favorites as she reminds me so much of my neice lucia, i masked her and stamped the shabby chic fence background stamp, the images were coloured with my promarkers and cut with the circle and scalloped circle nesties the papers are Basic Grey Lime Rickey, the ribbon is from stash and the flowers punched with x-cut and retro punches, eyelets are from stash and doodling done with a fineliner.

Fathers Day card

This is one of the cards i made for the kids to give hubby for fathers day yesterday, for a change i used a sizzix die cut instead of a stamped image, as you can gather hubby is a bit of a katate fanatic and no he doesn't have any hair either !!

the papers are basic grey archaic and i coloured the diecut with my trusty promarkers, the stars are also a sizzix diecut and the star brads are from stash the letters are cut with the sizzix lollipop dies and the fake stitchlines are done with a sakura glaze pen.

At last its Friday!! and the weekend starts here, and today is the day that Sugar Nellies new Diane Duda stamps are released and to celebrate there will be a blog hop, so i hope you've got your trainers on ready to hop till you drop !!! if you are joining in the hop you should have arrived here from scrappyjans blog if not then you'll need to go back to Sugar Nellie to make sure you haven't missed anything

I am thrilled to bits to have been selected to take part in this (my first) blog hop , the image, i was so kindly sent is called 'curtsy' and is totally different to any image i own and it inspired me to try something new, so i decided to make an acetate card and having tried a few colour combos i settled on a monchrome look and i think it suits her quite well, at one point she even had a blue rinse!!! but i didn't quite fancy the mrs Slocombe look lol

The acetate i've had for years and the black plain card is from the papermill, the image is coloured with my promarkers and the edges are inked with black soot distress ink, then cut with the oval and scalloped oval nesties. The scalloped oval and some of the flowers are sprayed with silver cosmic shimmer mist, the flowers are cut with the retro flower and x-cut punches the leaves are a woodware punch and the roses are from wildorchidcrafts. The brads are papermania, the spacers from ebay and the dragonfly, pin and ribbon are from my stash .

Dont forget the Diane Duda stamps are on sale over at funky kits today and if you're a sugar addict like me then get yours quick before they sell out , but dont worry its guilt free sugar shopping cos we've burnt off those calories doing all that hopping!!!lol

Anniversary card

Morning all, well its wet and miserable here today , bit of a change from yesterday , beautiful sunshine and it was my youngests sports day, he got two firsts and two seconds in his races, they'd all been practicing at school this week and you'd think they'd been in training for the 2012 olympics lol, but it was a lovely day, but quite sad for me as this was his last sports day before moving up to high schol in september :( where does the time go !!!
anyhow enough of my waffling i had to throw this one together in about 10 minutes flat last night,hence the simple layout, dopy me forgot i hadn't made hubby an anniversary card for today and only realised 10 mins before he was due home!!!

the image is lewis with heart from wild rose studios coloured with promarkers and cut with a nestie, the paper is papermania as is the mullberry paper sentiment,

good job hubby likes simple cards eh !!!lol

Well its week 4 already at passion for promarkers, doesn't time fly when you're having fun !! and the design team are loving visiting all your blogs to see your wonderful creations, thank you all for your wonderful support, we truly appreciate it.

I lost track of the number of images i coloured for this weeks challenge and finally settled on 'Annie' which was given to me by a friend for my birthday, thanks hon x

The paper i picked up last week from a little gem of a craft shop i discovered on my travels, its delish and the hearts are all glittery, though it doesn't show up too well on the photo, the border punch is woodware and the ribbon is from my stash, the heart gem is, i think, papermania.

Shoe Time

what a day !! been so busy and have just realised i am still in my work clothes and i finished work at 1 today!!

this is my entry for this weeks papertake weekly challenge which is 'shoe time' and as i'm of the opinion that a girl can never have enough shoes then this was perfect for me lol .

i havent made one of these for such a long time but thought it was perfect for this challenge so i routed out the template and while i was having a delve in the depths of the cupboard or 'mums mess' as its more commonly known lol, i came across a box of papers from qvc i think they are from a set by dawn bibby but not 100% sure. the ribbon i bought from port sunlight in may and they now have a website yay!! go check them out at fantastic ribbons

the flower is cut using retro and x-cut flower punches, with gems from kars and peeloffs from my stash, the border punch is also Ek success.

late on parade today, this card is for this weeks challenge at the sugar bowl which is a sketch and the colour combo blue and green for this i've used the image 'daisy' and coloured her with my promarkers the papers are basic grey 'two scoops' the border punch is martha stewart doily, the flowers are prima, the brad from stash and the spacer from ebay, the ribbon was a birthday pressie and the leaf punch is woodware. the embossing was done with the stylised flowers embossing folder and cut with the peony nestie. sorry about the shadows on the piccy, the light was a bit naff.

apologies for being such a bad blogger, i have been neglecting my blog a bit recently as i was getting things organised for a weekend camping in Anglesey last weekend , we had a fabulous time, am all stress free and chilled out now, but a little sore, as for the first time ever i have burn't my shoulders, i hope it feels better soon or i dont know how i'll stand to wear my tunic for work tomorrow lol, i just hope this weather lasts till next weekend as i'm off work then too ...

cupcake craft challenge

Well thats my weekend over, back to work this afternoon but i managed to get this card done this morning following a fabby sketch by donna over at cupcake craft challenge.

i used one of the new images from the Elizabeth Bell summer kit from Whiff of joy they are just fabulous to colour, this one (dont know her name yet!) was coloured with my promarkers and cut with the oval and scalloped oval nesties, the papers are basic grey(ambrosia)....yes i know ...very predictable ....but i love em !!! the sentiment is whiff of joy summer kit, the flowers cut with an x-cut punch and the roses wildorchidcrafts, the border is martha stewart doily and the ribbon is from fantastic ribbons.

ooo am i looking forward to this or what!!! .... a new challenge blog set up for those of us with a "PASSION FOR PROMARKERS" its being set up by Gina and Denise and they are looking for 4 people who are "passionate about Promarkers" to join there design team,
this is what they have to say

"Welcome to our new weekly challenge blog for those who have a passion for ProMarkers. Our first challenge will be on 26th May and will run every Tuesday thereafter. For each challenge we will give you specific colours to use, but feel free to use more if required, but the challenge colours must be used.

Before we begin, it seems a bit lonely here so we are looking for 4 other ProMarker lovers to join us on the Design Team.

If you would like to be considered there are a few rules:

You must of course own a lot of ProMarkers!!

You must be able to make a card a week with the challenge colours.

You must have an active blog and post at least weekly.

The sugar bowl

afternoon folks!!....well the car came back from the car doctors and the damage to the craft budget was not as bad as we thought!! the garage phoned to say that the front tyres were getting rather worn ,we knew this as they were mentioned after the m.o.t earlier in the year so we had those replaced too, when hubby went to pick the car up they said only the exhaust seal had gone and as we'd bought the new tyres they fixed the seal for free !!!my favourite price !!! will deffo be using that garage again !!

this is my entry for the sugar bowl challenge a fabby sketch by marlene and the added element is buttons, though because this card is being given to a 2 year old i decided fake ones would be a bit safer
the papers are basic grey 'cupcake' the image is a sugar nellie 'dexter the bear ' coloured with promarkers and cut with nesties the ribbon is from my stash and the yellow card is embossed with the swiss dots folder.

good morning all, well it looks like another beautiful day here, not much planned just work later, the car is poorly sick and gone for a visit to the car doctor, blooming exhaust has gone, so it sounds more like a tank ,and talking of things sounding not as they should.....my youngest son has had a bit of a sore throat for the past few days and when he woke up this morning his voice had broken !!! bless him he sounds like barry white!!! but its soo weird seeing this little boy(he's 11) with a big deep voice... where's my baby gone ????

this is my entry for the papertake weekly challenge which is 'animal antics' for this card i used this little cutie 'lewis' from wild rose studios colured with my promarkers and layered onto coloured card, the papers are basic grey 'sultry' and i've inked the edges with distress ink (blacksoot). the border punch is the martha stewart embossed zigzag, the gems are kanban and the ribbon another one from fantastic ribbons.

blooming birds !!!

good morning all, it looks like another lovely day here, the sun is shining and the blooming birds are singing, theres a birds nest in the gutter outside the window and i'd left the window on vetilation lock last night cos it was quite warm and i got woken up by the dawn chorus !!! typical !!!
i think this weekend has caught up with me, i feel like i could sleep for a week!! so i'm just gonna chill this morning before work, luckily its only a 3 hour shift today so i think i'll have an early night tonight and try and catch up, not that you ever do !! and the window will definately be SHUT !!!

this card is made with my new goodies from the weekend, the papers are basic grey 'ambrosia' the image is 'blossom' by leanne ellis, coloured with promarkers and cut with nesties, the rose is wildorchidcrafts the leaf punch is woodware, the swirl was a magazine freebee, the pearls are kanban and the gorgeous ribbon is from fantastic ribbons there website should be up and running soon, fabulous choices and good prices too, this one cost £1 for the roll....bargain !!

thanks to the lovely debbie posting the info on how to tweek the blog setting so the photos show bigger i decided to have a bit of a facelift ...no not me!!! ,the blog !!
lol, though a bit of a nip and tuck wouldn't go amiss, well more than a bit but we wont go there !!! i was getting a bit fed up of the black and white so this was the push i needed thanks debbie x but could i make up my mind .....no!!! mr blogger must be really fed up of me changing my mind cos i think its been every colour under the sun, finally i settled on the green dotty one though how long that will stay is anyones guess... be prepared for more changes ahead!

finally home from the stamp exhibition ....what a day!!! .... my feet are killing me and i'm sure some people sharpened their elbows especially !!! got a few bargains.... basic grey paper pads for 3.99!!! so me being the paperholic i am i couldn't resist and bought one of each pad they had so my paper addiction has well and truly been satisfied ...well for a little while anyway !!! some new nesties and rubberstamps and and loads of reels of ribbons £1 a reel ...bargain!! the promarkers range are lacking a bit in the pinks dept so i got a few copics to try out too. while i was there i got to meet the lovely Dawny P she was demoing for my local craft shop and if like me you think her cards look ace on her blog you should see them IRL WOW !!!
right i've waffled on long enough, im off to chill out for half hour before i go to work, i might get back later for a bit of a blog hop, see ya later.

afternoon everyone its a gorjuss day here, a bit blowy, perfect for drying the washing.
i dont know how you all do it but when i make a card i decide on the papers i want to use first then colour the image to coordinate, i find it so much easier , only this time i'd already coloured this gorjuss girl in !! well it totally threw me(doesn't take much lol) i spent ages faffing around with different papers and ended up with the first flipping ones i pulled out, for a simple card this has taken me about 2 hours to do:( i dont think i will be colouring first again lol

the papers are basic grey and papermania exquisite collection, the image coloured with promarkers, the edges are inked with tea dye and blacksoot distress inks, the punched border is martha stewart, the flowers x-cut punched and the roses wildorchid crafts and the brads are from my stash, sorry about the piccy but i think someones been playing with the settings on my camera.
oooo and its the rubber stamp exhibition at port sunlight tomorrow, i'm so looking forward to it, it should be a great day

finally got a bit of time to meself to make a card for the stamptacular sunday challenge, this weeks challenge is to make a card for mum
so i thought while the gang are out at karate i would have a go, and for me this is the perfect stamp for my mum, cos when i was little i was always dressing up in her clothes pretending to be "a big girl" in her high heels though i dont ever remember her having a feather boa!! lol

the paper is papermania scrumptious the image is a sugar nellie "dress up maggie" coloured with promarkers and cut with circle and scalloped circle nesties the sentiment is cuddly buddly, the flowers cut with an x-cut punch and the roses from wildorchidcrafts the ribbon is from stash and the martha stewart doily punch has had an outing too, oh and a mum peel off (not a fan of these but needs must as my printer is poorly sick and doent want to play ball ).

thought i'd better show my face this morning and say hi before i go to work or else i might not get a chance to later, i have increased my working hours now up to 21 now, it might not seem like a lot, but when you struggle to stay awake for more than 6 hours at a time i dont think i'm doing too bad, still a way to go yet but i will get there, its nice to have the extra pennies, tho it dont half cut into the crafting time lol.

boy am i sooo behind with everything today i'm meeting myself coming back,its been one of those days where no matter what you do you never seem to catch up and get everything done but hey theres always tomorrow!! i managed to get this card done while the kids were at karate and as my anyas had landed on my doormat this morning i just had to ink em up i hope there is a uk supplier who will have the new anya set on release date cos i dont think i could handle another 10 day wait for them to arrive from the usa.

this card is for the creative card crew challenge which is any form of embossing, for this i embossed using the swiss dots embossing folder and embossed the nestie mats and used a martha stewart zigzag embossed punch, the papers are basic grey boxer and the edges are inked with black soot distress ink the image is an anya coloured with promarkers. the flowers are x-cut punched and the roses are wild orchid crafts and the swirls are hotp.

evening everyone, hope you've all had a nice relaxing sunday, the weather here was beautiful today , though the wind was a little chilly at times, we've been out to my mums for sunday lunch today it was lovely, its funny how sunday roast always tastes nicer when you dont have to cook it yourself.
i managed to get a card made tonight for the just magnolia challenge ....a fabulous sketch by bev to work with and this is what i ended up with

the paper is papermania and the edges are inked with a whispers lilac ink pad, the image is from the magnolia chasing butterflies collection, coloured with promarkers and cut with labels 4 nestie,the lace is papercellar, the ribbon from stash, the flowers are joanna sheen, the swirl stamp was a magazine freebee and the butterfly gems are papermania and the embossing border punch is martha stewart.

Anniversary card

Phew back at last, am i glad this week is over and i can chill out for a few days,had a busy one today ,work this morning then off to the camping shop as we had had a sort out and needed to replace a few items, we needed a new coolbag and some new cups and bowls ......did we get them ????? ....... oh nooooooo ......but we did come home with a new tent!!!! an extention for the tent ????!!!! ....a ground sheet .......and can you believe this.......a carpet for the tent!!!!! i ask you ..... what will they think of next ??? i wouldn't mind but we didnt even need a tent we got a trailer tent two years ago and have spent 1 night in it.....hubbys excuse is that the trailer tent is too much messing just for a weekend !!! i'm thinking a muddy wet carpet is too much messing for a wet weekend lol
anyway i've thrown this card together as i've just realised its my sister and brother in laws wedding anniversary on monday and i hadn't made a card

its just a simple one cos she dont like loads of frills as she puts it

No card from me today ....what a bad blogger i am ....will hopefully have one tomorrow with a bit of luck !!!
i have to give a big shout out for some fantastic service, i always like to complement when someone impresses me with their service ,i ordered a memento inkpad and a MSpunch from tracey at dies to die for and it arrived super quick, beautifully wrapped and inside there was some nestie diecuts which was a lovely surprise, i will definately be shopping there again, thanks tracy.
i'm a happy bunny, i was in my local craft shop the other day and the ladies where talking about the rubber stamp exhibition thats on at port sunlight next week, all the tickets had sold out boo hoo!!! but was told they might have a spare one and to ring back today to check..... so i did and guess who's got a ticket !!! woo hoo !!!!
i'm soooooooooo looking forward to it and its pay day the day before and hubby said i can have my birthday money early so i feel a bit of a spree coming on roll on saturday !!!

paper makeup challenge

good morning all, i woke in a happy bubbly mood today, dunno why?, the weather hasn't got anything to do with it cos its miserable and wet here. not much planned for me today, work this morning till lunch time then the day is mine to do as i choose hmmm what do you think i'll be doing lol.
this week over at paper makeup the challenge is a sketch by the fabulous dawn
so i thought i'd have a go this week and this is my entry

the papers are form the papermania exquisite collection, edges inked with tea dye distress ink, the image is an elizabeth bell "daisy on her trike" coloured with promarkers and cut with a nestie, the roses are joanna sheen, i wrapped the stems round a pencil and added a clear crystal bead to the ends as i thought the card was a bit plain( still do if i'm honest but hey its done now), the ribbon is from stash and ran through the swiss dots embossing folder though it doesnt show up very well in the piccy but looks good IRL honest!! the instructions on how to do this are here

Well this is something i haven't done in a long time and i really enjoyed doing it, the challenge this week over at the stamptacular sunday challenge blog is "charmed i'm sure" you can create any project as long as it contains stamping and a charm ....hmmm i thought ...a charm??? .....bracelet!!! ..... so out came the jewellery making box and i dusted off the tools and got to work ,

the cream pearly beads are from a papermania kit, the tiny metal spacers are from ebay, the clear blue gems are from our local market haberdashery stall and the seashells and sea horses are from a card kit i bought when i first started making cards and the ribbon is from my stash , the gift box is made with basill bling card stock and a nestie, the ribbon and pearl are from stash and the tag is a sugar nellie coloured with promarkers and cut with a nestie .

colour create and creative card crew

Afternoon all hope you are all having a good tuesday, even if the weather is a bit miserable out there, not much to do today ,been to work this afternoon and nothing else planned for the day.

I've combined two challenges with this card, colour create and creative card crew,the challenge over at colour create is a colour combo of orange, green and brown with the extra challenge of it being a male card and over at creative card crew there is a fabulous sketch by sharon to work with, so with the colour combo and sketch the card nearly made itself lol

The papers are basic grey archaic, the edges are inked with blacksoot distress ink, the image is a sugar nellie "hamish" coloured with promarkers and cut with a circle nestie, the buckle is an original sizzix die and the orange card is run through the script cuttlebug embossing folder and inked with the blacksoot distress ink, the ribbon is from stash and the rugby balls are a sizzix die with a bit of doodling by me, and the sentiment is a from a see- d's set (boys toys).

there is a new challenge blog starting soon called allsorts challenge blog
if you are a crafter who likes to try lots of different styles and techniques then this could be the challenge blog for you!!
i copied this info from the blog

it is being started by Kirsten (Kirstens Krafty Place) and Emma (metalicbutterfly) and they are looking for 4 DT members (to start with) to help them kick start the Allsorts Challenge Blog........ they are looking for crafters who enjoy using lots of different techniques and challenges e.g sketches, recipies, colour themes etc....
to join the DT you need to be able to commit to a weekly challenge and be willing to set or post a challenge either of your own or one from a set DT list once every 6 weeks plus it would be nice if a DT member could offer a small prize each month unwanted stash, ribbon, Images.... etc (each DT member would do this once every 6 months).

finally i get the chance to get back to my favourite place here in blogland, the decorating is all finished and looks lovely only trouble now is the gloss is lovely and white in the dining room but makes the other rooms look like they need a coat of paint lol once you start it never stops eh !!

not much sleep for me last night my daughter was out in a tent in the mountains of snowdonia doing her duke of edinburgh practice expedition they had torretial rain and the tent filled with water so she not having an easy time of it... oh and the worst bit, according to the text this morning was getting chased .....by a sheep !!!! haha, i know she will be fine but i'm her mum and its my job to worry !!!

This card is for the just magnolia challenge , now my new tildas have arrived i can take part, the challenge is pink and green

confessions of a paperholic ....

well the second coat of paint is on and is looking good, i wasnt sure on the colour at first but its growing on me now, its called malt chocolate and looks like a mug of hot choc made with loads of milk, hubby says it will be finished tonight....thank goodness cos i feel like my right arm has been missing lol...... i have to confess i've been a bit naughty and had a bit of a spend, i promised myself i'd be good for a while(fat chance!!!) but i was bored and a girls got to do something to pass the time !!! i got myself some chasing butterfly magnolia's and have ordered the magnolia summer kit and i found the miss anya set, so i a happy bunny today. i off to work later for the shutdown shift, we take it in turns on a saturday so we only do one every 6 weeks so its not too bad. hopefully i will get chance later to do a bit of hopping and see what you've all been up to have a good saturday whatever you 're doing

just thought i'd pop in and explain meself, theres no card from me today cos somebody in his infinate wisdom (hubby) decided to decorate the dining /craft room whilst i was at work this morning !!! a just freshening up the gloss has turned into a full decorating job and has spilled over into the living room so the whole downstairs is totally upside down so i maybe AWOL for a little longer yet, i just wish he'd given me some notice and i could have had some cards made ready to post.

phew !! didn't think i'd get here today i had sooo much to do, but here i am better late than never!!!

over at the sugar bowl the challenge is to make a card for a male, i find these really difficult to do and i sat looking at the stamp i'd chosen ( he's one of my favourite sugar nellies) thinking what the heck am i going to do with him??? then it hit me.... i'd been staring at him for about 10 mins and thought yep i'll do the layout like his overalls so here he is ....

no design papers this time just basill bling for the dungarees,card from my stash for his shirt ribbon from my stash for the braces, the buckles are cut with a sizzix die,the faux stitching with a black marker, the buttons are from my stash and i raised the image up on foam pads

this weeks challenge over at colour create is the combo black, white and pink with the extra element of polka dots, for this i decided not to go with a card but to make an ikkle gift bag. this is for a colleagues 11 year old daughter who is very artistic and has just started making cards so i thought i would fill it with some images and bits and bobs to start off her stash collection, i hope she likes it.

the papers are dovecraft the image is an anya from an image swap with pascale(thanks hon x) coloured with my promarkers, the flowers are prima and the roses from wild orchid crafts the rafia lace is papercellar the eyelets came with the cropodile and the ribbon is from my stash and the msdp border punch for the lacey border.

stamptacular sunday challenge

not much on for me today other than a few hours at work this afternoon, the visit to the drs yesterday was ok, got to have more blood tests and wait to see another specialist to try and find out the cause of my anaemia, for the past 6 months i've been prodded and poked by numerous drs and had umpteen different oscopies and scans to find out why i'm not making normal blood cells, i was off work for 12 weeks as i was sleeping for up to 20 hours a day some days, it was debilitating, though things are improving with the help of the iron pills and i am slowly increasing my hours at work though it will be a while yet before i'm ready to go back full time.
right thats enough of my waffling on this is turning into an essay!!!,

over at the stamptacular challenge blog this week the challenge is a colour combo of "black and white plus one " colour of your choice, well i think i had every colour of the rainbow out on the table before deciding on mint green, i think it just gives the black and white a bit of a lift,

the paper is dovecraft, the image is a gorjuss girl coloured with my promarkers, the ribbon is from my stash and the flowers are punched with an x-cut punch, the roses are from wild orchid crafts, i tinted the edges of the mulberry roses with my promarkers to match the colours of the image.

Good morning everyone, what a beautiful day it is here today, not got much on today, playing catch up with the housework :( and then a trip to the doctors this afternoon,

over at the secret crafter challenge this week we have to create a scene.....
for my entry i kept the card fairly simple to let the image have center stage, the images i used are spring blossoms by sarah kay, fall grass and butterfly accessory stamp by whiff of joy and coloured with my promarkers, the white card was embossed with the cuttlebug swirls embossing folder the msdp punch has had another outing and the roses are from wild orchid crafts.

bit of a rush today i got called into work as my colleague who normally works Sundays is about to become a grandmother for the first time, baby's on her way and should arrive sometime today, so i covered for her, so to cut a long story short i thought i'd better try and combine a couple of challenges so this is my entry for

i have a little notebook that i use to keep a note of each of the challenges that i follow, it saves me having to load up the pages each time to check..... this week over at whiff of joy the challenge is the colour combo black white and a splash of colour, well i wrote it down in my book and wrote underneath in capitals and underlined "must use whiff of joy image "!!!... well the postie came and i had an envelope from the lovely Pascale with loads of anya stamped images and one of her gorgeous cards (thank you sooo much honey x ....) well that was it i just had to colour one in and before you know it had created this card, i sat back and thought ok thats another challenge to tick off the list, then it hit me ....doh !!! anya ain't a whiff of joy stamp!! ....what a noodle head i am !!!anyway here it is

the paper is papermania,the edges are inked with distress ink, the image is an anya from the lovely Pascale (thanks honey), coloured with promarkers, the flowers are prima and the roses are from joanna sheen, the ribbon is from stash, the gems are papermania and the MS doily punch also made an appearance again.

over at the stamptacular sunday challenge we are challenged to make something with at least one bird on it, well i thought, this one's got me stumped, other than the little chicks on my easter cards, i didn't think i had any images with birds on until i looked at my gorjuss girls and found this one, so her gorjussness it is,

the paper is papermania scrumptious, the image is coloured with promarkers and cut with my nesties, the flowers are prima and papermania, the spacers from ebay and brads and ribbon from stash, the raffia lace is from hobbycraft and the embossing was done with the birds and swirls cuttlebug embossing folder.

yuk !!! what a wild, wet n windy day it is here, a total change from yesterday, here's hoping it clears up a bit later before i venture out to work. A quiet day here today, my two youngest have gone over to friends for the day so my morning is free... can ya guess what i'll be doing ?!!!

over at the secret crafter, this weeks challenge is a sketch and a colour combo of chocolate orange,this is my entry

Good morning peeps,and a happy tuesday to you all, its a bit dark and dismal here today, i hope it picks up a bit later, a bit of sunshine doesn't half make you feel good, not much planned for today, off to work for a couple of hours at lunch time then back home to start some spring cleaning, though dont know why i'm bothering cos hubby wants to regrout the bathroom, and you can bet your bottom dollar the mess wont just stay in the bathroom !!!

This card is just a random one i've made to keep on hand for an emergency, should i need one quick, which knowing my kids is 5 mins notice!!!!

the papers are basic grey boxer, the image is a sugar nellie coloured with my promarkers and cut with a nestie, the stars are cut with a sizzix original die and run through the swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder, the sentiment is cuddly buddly and the star brads ae from my stash.

had a busy day this bank holiday, been furniture hunting and for once i found just what i was looking for.....and the best bit was there was 20% off !!! then off to the garden center to sort out my daughters equipment list for her duke of edinburgh award expedition, then to my sisters to show her how to put up her new tent so all in all a busy day,
over at cupcake craft challenge this week, the challenge is to create a card with just one layer this is my entry a birthday card for my sons friend who is mad on football

What a glorious afternoon it is here, the sun is shining and the birds are singing
here's my Easter cards, all pretty similar just variations on the theme...

the image is one of the accessory stamps from the whiff of joy spring collection coloured with promarkers and cut with a nestie, the papers are from qvc yonks ago i think they are papermania, the flowers are prima and papermania, the brads and ribbon from stash, the raffia lace from hobbycraft and a sentiment peel off only cos i not got a happy easter stamp oh and that punch has had another outing again !!!

cute card thursday and another use for "that" punch

this weeks challenge over at cute card thursday is a "marshmallow and chocolate" colour scheme, for this one i've gone more for the milk and white chocolate with marshmallow look rather than dark chocolate,

the image is a sugar nellie "maggie with flowers" coloured with promarkers then cut with the circle and scalloped nesties and then mounted onto a sizzix hexagon, the paper is forever friends,the edges are inked with tea dye distress ink, the sentiment is cuddly buddly and the ribbon is from stash, the brad is papermania and the spacer from ebay, the flowers are prima and cut with an xcut punch and the larger outer flower was a bit of an experiment ....

i cut some hearts out with a sizzix die and embossed on the back of them with a large embossing tool to give them some dimension, then scored down the center of the heart, but before sticking them onto a small circle of card to form the flower shape, i thought... what would they look like if i punched the edges of the hearts in the MS doily punch to get a lacy pattern, now i cant say i've ever seen a flower in the wild that looks like this but the effect is sort of growing on me lol, i think i might have to have a play with my other punches and see what happens,

one stop craft challenge

over at the one stop challenge the challenge this week is ...all stitched up ....either real or faux stitching, this is my entry ....sorry about the wonky piccy lol

the papers are basic grey archaic the image is a cuddlybuddy stamp and the background is whiff of joy fall grass, coloured with promarkers and cut with a nestie, doodled some stitching round the edges with a black pen, the border punch is woodware and the ribbon and brads from the pit that is my stash cupboard, gawd it needs a spring clean!!!

i am still debating whether to move into the loft and finally have my own craft room, but today number 2 son seems to have locked himself away in there to get some revision done for his A levels so i think the decision has been taken out of my hands for the time being and i'll continue with the overflowing cupboard!!

hope you all have a great easter, my lovely boss has given me the day off tomorrow (with pay!!!!) as we are haven't got a clinic on, (i work in an opticians)so i got some unexpected crafting time this weekend yipeee.

colour create challenge

this week the challenge over at colour create is the colour combo duck egg blue and rose, though i'm not sure the blue i've used would be called duck egg !!!

for this card i've used paper from the forever friends collection, the image is dress up maggie from sugar nellie, coloured with promarkers and cut with a nestie. the border is cut with a MS doily punch, the rafia lace is from hobbycraft and the ribbon and brads from my stash.

I've just looked outside and its looking like another beautiful day here, not much on today, bit of housework to do then off to work this afternoon. till eight...got to pay for the new stash somehow !!!
